Previo al lanzamiento de cualquier objeto espacial desde el territorio Colombiano o a nombre del Estado colombiano, el mismo deberá registrarse de conformidad con el Convenio de Registro de Objetos Lanzados al Espacio Ultraterrestre ratificado por Colombia. Los lanzamientos deberán contar con el concepto favorable del Ministerio de Defensa Nacional - Fuerza Aérea Colombiana, con el objeto de controlar: supervisar y regular que estos no constituyan un riesgo para la seguridad y defensa nacional, la operación aérea y espacial, y la soberanía nacional.
