Art. 2512. La prescripción es un modo de adquirir las cosas ajenas, o de estinguir las acciones o derechos ajenos, por haberse poseído las cosas i no haberse ejercido dichas acciones i derechos durante cierto lapso de tiempo, i concurriendo los demás requisitos legales.

Se prescribe una acción o derecho cuando se estingue por la prescripción.
