Cuando un Agente del Ministerio Público esté impedido para intervenir en un asunto, lo reemplaza el suplente respectivo. Agotado el número de suplentes, el Juez o Tribunal nombra el individuo que debe reemplazarlo, pero el Gobierno puede variar esa designación, y en ese caso continúa funcionando el nombrado por el Gobierno.
