Para obtener el grado de Cabo Segundo de Vigilancia, es requisito indispensable haber cursado y aprobado los estudios reglamentarios en la Escuela Nacional de Suboficiales "Gonzalo Jiménez de Quesada" y ser propuesto para tal grado por el Director del Instituto.
