Corresponde al Jefe del Departamento de Servicios Coordinados orientar la labor de los laboratorios oficiales existentes para unificar la técnica, fomentar la investigación, uniformar la estadística, y hacer, cada vez, más efectiva la colaboración de dichos laboratorios en las campañas de sanidad e higiene que adelanta el Gobierno y las que sostienen las demás entidades públicas.
