Art. 2º Los Jueces municipales de los Municipios que sean cabecera ó capital de Distrito Judicial, conocerán en lo sucesivo de los juicios civiles de que trata el ordinal 2º del artículo 122 de la Ley 147 de 1888 , cuando la cuantía no exceda de cinco mil pesos ($5,000); los demás Jueces municipales conocerán de los asuntos de igual clase cuando la cuantía no exceda de tres mil pesos ($3,000).
