Control y vigilancia de las entidades aseguradoras. La Superintendencia Nacional de Salud tendrá las funciones de control y vigilancia de las entidades aseguradoras autorizadas como entidades promotoras de salud en relación exclusivamente con el ejercicio de las actividades propias de las entidades promotoras de salud y respecto de los recursos provenientes de aquellas que se reflejan en cuentas separadas. En los demás aspectos, en particular los financieros, dicho control y vigilancia corresponde a la Superintendencia Bancaria.
