El Centro Universitario Militar tendrá un Subdirector General que reemplazará al Director en sus ausencias temporales, salvo disposición en contrario del Presidente de la República y ejercerá las funciones que le señale el estatuto orgánico. Para ser Subdirector General se requiere ser Oficial Superior de las Fuerzas Militares, en actividad o en retiro, o civil con título en carrera universitaria cuyo plan oficial de estudios haya exigido o exija un mínimo de cinco años y, además haber ejercido el profesorado universitario por un término no inferior a cinco años.
