El Gobierno Nacional entregará dicho edificio al Gobierno del Departamento de Boyacá para su conservación y para instalar en el las oficinas de la Academia Boyacense de Historia, el Archivo Histórico de Tunja, la Biblioteca Pública y un Museo Histórico, así como para actos culturales y patrióticos.
