En virtud de lo establecido en los artículos 267 y 126 de la Constitución Política la elección del Contralor General de la República se hará por el Congreso en pleno, por mayoría absoluta, en el primer mes de sus sesiones para un periodo igual al del Presidente de la República, de lista de elegibles conformada por convocatoria pública.
