Además de las que señalen las leyes y los acuerdos del Concejo, los Contralores tendrán las siguientes atribuciones: 1º Vigilar la gestión fiscal y financiera de la administración municipal y de sus entidades descentralizadas y la manera de rendir cuentas los responsables del manejo de fondos o bienes municipales. 2º Exigir informes a los empleados públicos municipales sobre su gestión fiscal, y 3º Revisar y fenecer las cuentas de los ingresos y gastos públicos, a fin de determinar si se han hecho de acuerdo con las disposiciones vigentes.
