Origen . La Medalla Militar "Herido en Acción" fue creada en el artículo 42 del Decreto 1816 de 2007, para reconocer a lo Oficiales, Suboficiales, Soldados, Infantes de Marina y civiles de las Fuerzas Militares que presten sus servicios en áreas en donde se desarrollen operaciones para el restablecimiento y mantenimiento del Orden Público, y sean heridos en combate o como consecuencia de la acción del enemigo.
