Los oficiales y suboficiales de las Fuerzas Militares serán retirados en forma absoluta del servicio cuando les sobreviene incapacidad absoluta y permanente o gran invalidez, de acuerdo con el concepto que emita la sanidad militar con base en el reglamento correspondiente o cuando cumplieren 65 años los oficiales y 55 los suboficiales, edad en que cesa toda obligación militar.
