Los ascensos de Suboficiales se harán dentro del personal en servicio y se otorgan por selección mediante cursos de especialización o perfeccionamiento en la Escuela General Santander, o por medio de concursos, cuando haya vacantes y la carrera se iniciará en el grado de Cabo, de acuerdo con las jerarquías de la tropa, anotadas en el artículo 4. ° de este Decreto.
