El funcionario investigador deberá perfeccionar las diligencias en el término de veinte (20) días, prorrogables prudencialmente y hasta otro tanto sólo en los casos que se deban practicar pruebas fuera del lugar donde se efectúe o cuando fueren tres o más los inculpados o cuando las necesidades del servicio así lo determinen.
