Dicho Cuerpo de Gendarmería tendrá su principal acantonamiento en el Municipio de Codazzi y dependerá inmediatamente del Gobernador de Santa. Marta, quien lo organizará conforme á los reglamentos que al efecto dicte el Ministerio de Guerra, y con personal escogido por vía de enganche, entre los habitantes de la misma región.
