Autorízase a la Nación y a las entidades descentralizadas del orden nacional, departamental y municipal, cuyo objeto se relacione con la actividad pesquera, definida en el artículo 3° de la presente Ley, para constituir una sociedad anónima que se denominará Corporación Financiera de Fomento Pesquero, Corfipesca, con el objeto de financiar programas y proyectos de inversión propios de la actividad pesquera.
