Cuando sea necesario adelantar programas especiales de restauración, conservación o preservación de especies de la fauna silvestre, la entidad administradora podrá delimitar y crear áreas de reserva que conforme a los Artículos 253 y 255 del Decreto - Ley 2811 de 1974 se denominarán territorios fáunicos o reservas de caza. Las providencias que los declaren deberán ser aprobadas por el gobierno nacional.
