La Nación se asocia a la Conmemoración del Sesquicentenario de la fundación de la ciudad de Samaniego, en el Departamento de Nariño, el cual se cumplirá el día 5 de junio de 1987, rinde tributo de admiración a la memoria de sus fundadores y exalta las virtudes cívicas y el espíritu progresista de sus habitantes.
