El Deporte Formativo y Comunitario hace parte del Sistema Nacional del Deporte y planifica, en concordancia con el Ministerio de Educación Nacional, la enseñanza y utilización constructiva del tiempo libre y la educación en el ambiente, para el perfeccionamiento personal y el servicio a la comunidad, diseñando actividades en deporte y recreación para niños, jóvenes, adultos y personas de la tercera edad.
