Cuando ocurra el fallecimiento del titular de una licencia de operador radioaficionado, los parientes que se encuentren hasta el tercer grado de consanguinidad podrán solicitar ante la Dirección Administrativa de Comunicación Social del Ministerio de Comunicaciones, la reasignación del distintivo de llamada del fallecido, siempre y cuando el solicitante cumpla con los requisitos señalados en este Decreto Reglamentario, en la obtención de la licencia para la prestación del servicio de radioaficionado.
