Pueden ejercer la profesión medica y sus auxiliares en el territorio de Colombia, los individuos que tengan adquirido o que en lo sucesivo adquieran diploma expedido por alguna de las Facultades establecidas o que se establezcan en el país y que sean reconocidas como tales por la ley.
