Decreto 1000 de 1992 · por el cual se aprueba el "Manual de Definiciones, Contenidos y Tarifas", para la contratación de servicios de salud en el Instituto de Seguros Sociales.

Las Juntas Médico-Quirúrgicas operarán en los Centros de Atención Básica, en donde se disponga del recurso de especialistas, Centros de Atención Intermedia y de Alta Especialidad del Instituto y en las instituciones proveedoras de servicios de salud. Toda Junta estará constituida por un mínimo de tres profesionales, dos de los cuales deben ser especialistas sobre el caso a estudiar y un tercero, especialista en medicina interna.

Parágrafo

Habrá tantas Juntas Médico-Quirúrgicas, cuantas sean necesarias según el nivel de complejidad o el flujo de decisiones a tomar.
