Con excepción de la notificación á que se refiere el artículo 48 de la Ley 51 de 1898 y de las del auto de proceder y de la sentencia de primera instancia, que serán personales, las demás notificaciones que deban hacerse se surtirán por edicto. La notificación personal deberá hacerse al procesado ó á su defensor, excepto la del auto de proceder que se hará al procesado en todo caso.
