Para efectos de esta Ley, se reconoce por agroindustria algodonera la actividad agrícola que tiene por objeto el cultivo y la recolección del algodón semilla y el beneficio y procesamiento de sus frutos hasta obtener: fibra, semilla e hilaza de algodón.
