° La Corporación tendrá como finalidades principales la de promover el desarrollo económico y social de la región comprendida bajo su jurisdicción, mediante la plena utilización de todos los recursos humanos y naturales a fin de encauzar y obtener el máximo nivel de vida de la población y la de realizar programas y proyectos de integración con la región fronteriza de la República de Venezuela.
