El monto del Seguro de Vida de los congresistas será el equivalente a doce mensualidades de la correspondiente asignación, comprendidos dietas, gastos de representación y primas. Si la muerte se produjere como consecuencia de un accidente, la indemnización se pagará doble. La Nación costeará el entierro de los Senadores y Representantes que fallezcan durante el período para el cual hubiesen sido elegidos. En estos términos queda modificado el artículo 11 de la Ley 48 de 1962, lo mismo que el literal (g) del artículo 2o. del Decreto 1723 de 1964.
