Corresponde al Departamento Administrativo de Seguridad atender el despacho de los negocios que, según sus afinidades, determine el Presidente de la República y las funciones que por él sean delegadas, según las disposiciones constitucionales vigentes. Igualmente debe cumplir las funciones comunes a Ministerios y Departamentos Administrativos, señaladas en el artículo 3º del Decreto 1050 de 1968 y en los que lo adicionen o reformen.
