Para que un alumno sea matriculado por primera vez en el Instituto se requiere que presente un exámen previo, ante uno de los profesores i el respectivo Director sobre lengua castellana i alguna de estas otras: francés, ingles, latín o aleman, i sobre principios de aritmética.
