El presente Protocolo regirá indefinidamente, pero cualquiera de los Estados Partes podrá denunciarlo. El instrumento de denuncia será depositado en la Secretaría General de la Organización de los Estados Americanos. Transcurrido un año, contado a partir de la fecha del depósito del instrumento de denuncia, el Protocolo cesará en sus efectos para el Estado denunciante quedando subsistente para los demás Estados Partes.
