Art. 5.º Llegado el dia 1. ° de enero de 1852, las juntas en vista de los cuadros de que habla el artículo anterior, i con la soleninidad que tengan por conveniente, declararán libres a todos los esclavos de su canton, i espedirán los certificados de que trata el artículo 3.° de la lei de 21 de mayo último. ° Las juntas de manumision, pueden anticipar los trabajos espresados, a fin de que el 1.0 de enero cumplan aquellas obligaciones sin embarazo alguno.
