Articulo 40 . Sólo el Comité Olímpico Colombiano o las federaciones deportivas podrán presentar' solicitudes para organizar competiciones o eventos deportivos internacionales con sede en Colombia, previa autorización del Gobierno y oído el concepto del Instituto Colombiano de la Juventud y el Deporte (Coldeportes). Para que se conceda la autorización, es necesario que las ciudades o regiones propuestas tengan instalaciones deportivas, servicios públicos eficientes y facilidades de alojamiento y comunicación.

Parágrafo

Las competiciones o eventos deportivos internacionales se organizarán de acuerdo con las normas deportivas internacionales y con la reglamentación que expida el Gobierno Nacional.
