La ley reconoce a los trabajadores el derecho de asociarse libremente en defensa de sus intereses, formando sindicatos, asociaciones profesionales, etc., etc.

Se llama sindicato la asociación de trabajadores de una misma profesión, oficio o especialidad, o de profesiones, oficios o especialidades, similares o conexos, constituida exclusivamente para el estudio, desarrollo y defensa de los intereses comunes de su profesión, sin repartición de beneficios.
