La muerte sólo podrá acreditarse con la partida de defunción y la pérdida de los derechos políticos con la certificación expedida por la competente autoridad jurisdiccional. La renuncia a la candidatura deberá formularse por escrito presentado personalmente por el renunciante al funcionario electoral correspondiente, quien hará constar esta circunstancia, o mediante comunicación dirigida por el mismo renunciante al respectivo funcionario con nota de presentación personal ante un juez, notario o agente consular.
