Solo puede concederse patente para una invención única, o para un grupo de invenciones relacionadas en forma tal que constituya una unidad. Cualquier solicitud que no reúna las condiciones anteriores deberá ser dividida o limitada dentro del plazo de seis meses.

Las solicitudes fraccionadas gozarán de la misma fecha de prioridad de la solicitud inicial.
