La Nación presenta a la juventud colombiana como modelo a seguir, las cualidades de este ciudadano ejemplar, quien por sus dotes de hombre de estudio, la rectitud de su criterio, y la probidad de sus actos, ocupó merecidamente los cargos de Designado para ejercer el Poder Ejecutivo, Presidente del Consejo de Estado, Representante al Congreso, Gobernador de Cundinamarca, Presidente del Consejo Municipal de Bogotá, y muchos otros en cuyo ejercicio puso de manifiesto su alto sabe, su definida independencia de carácter y su extraordinaria pulcritud.
