Declarase día Fausto para la Nación el 19 de octubre próximo, fecha en que se cumplen cien años que los ciudadanos de Mompós obtuvieron sobre las tropas del aguerrido Teniente Coronel español don Esteban Fernández de León el Triunfo que mereció a la ciudad el título de "valerosa y benemérita de la Patria" y la puso en capacidad de suministrar al Libertador el Ejercito que le abrió en 813 las puertas de la gloria.
