En el pedestal de la estatua se inscribirán los nombres de Francisco Antonio Zea, Pedro Pradilla, José Ayala i Vergara, Luis Rieux, Manuel Fróes, Ignacio Sandino, Sinforoso Mútis, José María Cabal, Enrique Umaña, José María Duran i Pablo Uribe que, como cómplices de Nariño, fueron juzgados i sentenciados en 1794 por la publicación de los “Derechos del hombre”.
