El Instituto de Medicina Legal practicará las diligencias médico - legales que pidan los funcionarios judiciales de Bogota; emitirán los conceptos que soliciten las autoridades de Cundinamarca y la Intendencia del Meta y, en última instancia, dictaminará sobre las consultas que hagan los Tribunales y Jueces de todo el país, en el ramo penal. Practicará también las diligencias y emitirá los conceptos que le señale el Código Sustantivo del Trabajo.
