Requisitos. Los requisitos mínimos necesarios para el otorgamiento de la Medalla Militar “Campaña del Sur” son:

Para Comandantes de la Fuerza de Tarea Conjunta, Divisiones y Brigadas que hagan parte de las operaciones de la campaña del sur, tener un tiempo mínimo de un año en el cargo.

Para los demás oficiales, suboficiales, soldados e infantes de marina, tener un tiempo mínimo de año y medio en el desempeño y gestión de operaciones en la campaña del sur.
