Los menores de catorce (14) años y mayores de doce (12) años de edad podrán realizar tareas de tipo familiar, siempre y cuando los horarios de ocupación continuos o discontinuos no superen tres (3) horas diarias, no afecten su asistencia regular a un establecimiento educativo y garanticen el tiempo necesario para su recreación y descanso, todo lo anterior a juicio de los funcionarios que determine el Gobierno Nacional para la vigilancia y control de las normas relacionadas con el trabajo de menores.
