Los objetos y fines de las sociedades cooperativas serán determinados en los respectivos estatutos, sobre las bases económicas y sociales de la cooperación, a fin de satisfacer las necesidades de la industria y de la economía, de fomentar el crédito, la industria, la agricultura, las profesiones, artes y oficios, y, en general, de obtener el mejoramiento de las condiciones de los asociados y adherentes de las empresas cooperativas, todo ello sin contravenir a las leyes, al orden público y a las buenas costumbres.
