Declárase infausto para la República, y en especial para los Departamentos de Nariño y Boyacá, el 25 de mayo del presente año de 1933, en que falleció el ilustre Obispo, quien presto valiosos servicios al país, ora en lo civil, en lo político y en la instrucción pública, ora en elevados cargos en la Diócesis de Tunja y finalmente, como Prelado de la Iglesia Pastopolitana.
