El Suboficial que reciba un grado a partir de Cabo segundo hasta Sargento primero, inclusive, si desea continuar en servicio activo, firmara un contrato de enganche en el cual conste las obligaciones y deberes que contrae en el nuevo empleo y el tiempo que se compromete a servirlo, que en ningún caso será menos a un año. El documento llevara las firmas del interesado, de dos testigos hábiles y del respectivo comandante del Cuerpo, Instituto o Dependencia.

Parágrafo

El tiempo máximo de servicio en cada grado de los Suboficiales

Para el Sargento segundo hasta cuatro (4) años; y para el Sargento primero, hasta cinco (5) años.
