Art. 9° Si se destinaren fondos para el enriquecimiento del Instituto, será el Director quien contrate i envíe viajeros naturalistas por el territorio de la República, con el fin de recojer datos para formar colecciones completas de Fauna i dela Flora colombianas: con este objeto pedirá informes i colecciones a los Jefes de los respectivos Estados, i a los hombres científicos de toda la Nacion.
