Se otorgará el título de Miembro Honorario a los Jefes de Departamentos Científicos y a los Jefes de Servicios o de Divisiones Clínico-investigativas que, habiéndose retirado del servicio activo de la institución después de haber ejercido sus cargos por más de 20 años, reciban esta distinción a solicitud del Consejo Médico. Este título da derecho a actuar como consultor, previa citación, en asuntos asistenciales-administrativos y a voz pero no a voto en las deliberaciones del Consejo Médico. Tales intervenciones recibirán la remuneración acordada por los reglamentos, e independientemente de las prestaciones adquiridas.
