La Zona Franca Industrial y Comercial de Santa Marta, es un establecimiento público, esto es, con personería jurídica, autonomía administrativa y patrimonio independiente, adscrito al Ministerio de Desarrollo Económico, que se organiza conforme a las normas establecidas por la Ley 105 de 1958, Decretos 1050 y 3130 de 1968 y el Decreto 1144 de 1974 y las contenidas en los presentes estatutos.
