Ley 5 de 1992 · Por la cual se expide el Reglamento del Congreso, el Senado y la Cámara de Representantes

Posesión de los Congresistas. Posteriormente, el Presidente de la Junta Preparatoria tomará el juramento de rigor a los Congresistas presentes. Con ello se cumplirá el acto de la posesión como requisito previo para el desempeño de sus funciones y se contestará afirmativamente a la siguiente pregunta:

Invocando la protección de Dios, ¿ Juráis sostener y defender la Constitución y las leyes de la República y desempeñar fielmente los deberes del cargo

Este juramento se entenderá prestado para todo el período constitucional. Quienes con posterioridad se incorporen al Congreso, deberán posesionarse ante el Presidente de la Cámara respectiva para asumir el ejercicio de sus funciones.
