° Siempre que se imponga pena de multa por cualquiera de los delitos y contravenciones especificados en las leyes penales, se convertirá en la de arresto, á razón de un día por cada cuatro pesos, si el responsable no la consignare oportunamente; pero en ningún caso podrá pasar de cuatro años el arresto impuesto en sustitución de la pena de multa.
