El Apoyo Académico Especial, constituye una estrategia educativa diseñada con el objetivo de garantizar el ingreso o la continuidad en el sistema educativo de la población menor de 18 años que por motivos de exámenes diagnósticos y procedimientos especializados por sospecha de cáncer, o tratamiento y consecuencias de la enfermedad, se encuentren en Instituciones Prestadoras de Servicios de Salud o Aulas Hospitalarias Públicas o Privadas y no pueden asistir de manera regular al establecimiento educativo.
